The Bengals stink.
- And the stench was broadcasted nationwide on Monday night -
Can you smell that?
To me, it smells like a 30-day-old hot dog that has been laying out in the sun.
In a Bengal loss hangover, do I pick it up?
Nah, maybe I’ll join the masses on ebay or stub hub and dish out the rest of my season tickets.
I don’t think I could that either.
One thing is for certain, the Bengals stink.
After the game Marvin Lewis yelled at his team and called them selfish.
According to the Associated Press, Lewis told his team, “If you don’t want to be on this team, please don’t show up! You don’t call the offense, you don’t call the plays. You just play. Nowhere in the NFL do guys act like this. We’ve got to figure this out.”
The Bengals seem to be falling apart, as their record dips to 1-3 with a 34-13 loss to the New England Patriots.
Granted, New England has defeated all of its opponents like this; New York Jets (38-14), San Diego (38-14) and Buffalo (38-7).
However, the Patriots seemed to be taking it easy on the lil’ Bengies. To me, New England could have scored at will.
Simple play after simple play - the Bengals’ banged-up defense was helpless.
The play that upset me the most happened when New England led 27-10 at the end of third quarter. As one defender runs off the field during the commercial break, two Bengals replace him. The Bengals’ defense goes on to stuff Kevin Faulk for a one-yard gain, setting up a fourth-and-one on Cincinnati’s 26. I know New England settled for a field goal on the next set of downs, but how can you have a penalty for 12-men on the field after a quarter change?
Randy Moss is good, but is Sammy Morris (below)?
Down 10-0, Cincinnati got an interception from cornerback Leon Hall in New England territory. Then quarterback Carson Palmer connected with Chad Johnson for a 21-yard gain and then to T.J. Houshmandzadeh for a touchdown.
The Bengals held the momentum until the Patriots’ next drive. Morris rushed for 40 yards on the drive, which was capped off by a Randy Moss touchdown catch. Johnathan Joseph had great coverage, but Moss made a great play.
Prior to this season, Morris had only 1,469 career rushing yards in his seven NFL seasons. Last night, he rushed for 117 yards on 21 carries and scored a touchdown. It was only the second 100-yard game of his career (that’s two in 98 games).
The Bengals are now 6-11 in their last 17 games.
Prior to this season, Bengal fans thought a imminent playoff run had to happen. They also thought that another 8-8 season would cost head coach Marvin Lewis’ job.
The schedule gets easier after the bye and the team will get some key players back from injuries.
However, is that enough?
For now, the Bengals stink.

Monday night’s game was an embarassement to the the entire Bengal nation…Ocho Stinko wants a superbowl ring! You got to be kidding, the only ring he should have is a nose ring so we could tie a fish line on it to guide him through his designated pass routes. Brady was toying with the Bengal defense; one series he would decide to run for a touchdown, the next he decided to throw the ball down the field for over 85 yards; if he wanted to he could have juggled the ball down the field. Do we really have to endure another decade of this crap…It’s time for Bengal fans to unite and demand better….I’m fed up and I’m not going to take it anymore…anyone want my season ticket?
Ocho Cinco can be annoying. And Marvin might have been singling him out when he called his team selfish. He’s kind of like a baby. However, he still is a great player. Personally, I would love to trade the entire offense for a defense. All I would keep on offense is Carson Palmer - maybe you can get a superstar for Chad Johnson. However, none of this will ever happen. The Pats are a great team and made the Bengals look like their minor league team. They do cheat, but Cincinnati needs to start if it stands a chance this season.
Hearts were breaking across the Greater Cincinnati area (and beyond) on Monday night as the last hopes of a promising season were squashed. Ever since 2005 us fans have been supporting our team…through the good times and bad as we always do. And what do we get for it? A crappy performance from an overall good football team. The fans have always stood by our team and have been selling out the stadium now for two years that should say something. Where’s the love for us? Where’s the passion? Where’s our “thank you”? The Bengals on Monday night played liked they didn’t care…there was no fire…no drive. They played like it didn’t mean anything to them…which maybe it didn’t…but it meant something to us!! I hope that someone of the fans show the team that we won’t stand for this from OUR team and this is a wake up call to them. We have some of the greatest players in the NFL and there is no excuse for the lackluster performance thus far in the season. Shape up boys…or ship out and remember YOU ARE replaceable.
PS. The nose ring is a good idea Woody!!!
Last night on the 11 o’clock news one of the Cincinnati stations covered a “women’s football camp” that the Bengals/Marvin Lewis held on the field at Paul Brown. The women went through basic football training camp. Some of them looked like they should replace our defense!
However, why is Marvin wasting time coaching women who have nothing better to do than pay to hit some pads? Whether it’s for charity or not, this team is in crisis mode and should be functioning that way, by-week or not.
Also, thought Mr. Bengal Stripes would be interested that the main Bengal signing autographs was Shayne Graham. Shocker.
