Season Lost?

By Adam Kiefaber

The rest of the Bengals’ schedule looks easy.

However, the Bengals will have to win eight of their remaining nine to make the playoffs.

There is a chance that seven of nine might put them in the playoffs, but there is also a chance that eight of nine might not be enough.

Up next, the Bengals will travel to play a Buffalo team that isn’t good, but neither are the Bengals.

Then it’s at Baltimore, vs. Arizona, vs. Tennessee, at Pittsburgh, vs. Rams, at San Francisco, vs. Cleveland and at Miami.

Personally, I believe the Bengals should be able win all of those games with the exception of the Tennessee and Pittsburgh games.

Also, with the Bengals playing like they have been this season, you have to figure that they will lose at least one more.

So I think the Bengals will win four of the last nine to end the season. That means a final 6-10 record for Cincinnati.

Unless Cincinnati wins six of the next nine - the team will have its first losing season since 2002.

If that happens, then head coach Marvin Lewis could get fired.

I will breakdown the Steelers’ game soon

I think giving the Bengals four wins is being generous. No way we’ll make 8. Everyone in our division, including the Browns will probably beat us. And might as well throw out the away games…with the jet lag we’ll never win. So I think we’ll win two more games. Arizona and the Rams. Maybe. I think our only hope to win more is to have some of the teams we play have an injury list as deep as ours or deeper, like a quarterback falling off a bike without wearing a helmet!

Why don’t we just Pete Rose this season…and throw it. Starting losing just to lose. Too bad you can’t draft a NFL coach with the first round pick.

It’s tough being a Bengal’s fan, but somebody has to do it. Actually I was one of the few people at the game that thought kicking a field goal at the end of the first half was the right decision. I’ve seen them fail on 3rd and one or two too many times. The problem is the Bengals have absolutely no defense. Altho it won’t happen, I would like to see them play with reckless abandon much like the Cleveland game, to win out they’ll have to score more points than the defense gives up. Anyway I’ll still waste my Sunday afternoons watching them on the tube when they’re away and at PBS when they are at home…come rain or shine.

It’s tough Courtney, but I happen to know you come from good genes and you will endure!

Please allow me to quote Jim Mora:

“What’s that? Uh — Playoffs? Don’t talk about — playoffs? You kidding me? Playoffs? I just hope we can win a game!”

‘Nuff said.
