Fui Vakapuna returns to Bengals

by on November 3, 2009

The agent of fullback Fui Vakapuna told Bengals.com that his client has joined the Cincinnati Bengals 53-man roster.

After being cut by the Bengals after training camp, Vakapuna signed with the Arizona Cardinals’ practice squad.

However, last week the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed fellow fullback Chris Pressley off the Bengals’ practice squad.

Both fullbacks were featured heavily on HBO’s series “Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Cincinnati Bengals (video above).”

It was expected that the Bengals were going to keep two fullbacks on their roster this season because of Jeremi Johnson’s questionable health.

Right now, Johnson’s health is in question again after spraining his knee against Chicago. The injury wasn’t expected to take Johnson out of this Sunday’s game, however he did not practice on Monday.

Attendance: At the start of today, Nov. 2, the Bengals still had 4,500 tickets remaining for Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens. That means the Bengals only sold 500 tickets between Friday morning and this morning, which is a little hard to believe.
