Bengals don’t do much

The Cincinnati Bengals and Mavin Lewis didn’t do much in its 10-17 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sept. 7.

Carson Palmer couldn’t do much.

The pro-bowl caliber quarterback threw an interception, completed only 10 of 25 passes for 99 yards.

Neither could running back Chris Perry, who rushed for only 37 yards on 18 carries.

How about Chad Ocho Cinco?

One catch - 22 yards.

Total yards?

154 total for Cincinnati - 358 for the Ravens.

Overall the Bengals defense played ok, however Baltimore without its best offensive player, Willis McGahee, ran all over the Bengals for a total of 229 yards. Some guy named Le’Ron McClain ran for 86 yards on 19 carries. Prior to this game he had only gained a total of 18 yards in 16 career games.

After a 38-yard scramble by Joe Flacco for a touchdown, Cincinnati seemed to lose all hope. It was 17-3 and the Bengals, who had great field position on multiple occasions couldn’t do anything on offense.

While the defense played its heart out, it eventually ran out of gas couldn’t tackle McClain or rookie Ray Rice when it needed and Baltimore advanced the ball with ease.

However, with just over 10 minutes left in the game, Flacco’s pitch was fumbled, cornerback Johnathan Joseph picked up the ball and raced 65 yards for a touchdown. The score was now 17-10.

So you are saying there is a chance?

Not really, the Bengals would get the ball down into Ravens’ territory just to come up short on a fourth-and-one. Baltimore regains possession and runs out the clock. Game over and the Bengals’ lose in their most winnable game of the season.

The schedule now calls for the Titans at home, on the road against the Giants, at home vs. the Browns and at the Cowboys.

Yikes!

Can the Bengals win any of those games?

I believe if this team plays like it did today then they would be extremely lucky to win one of them, which puts them at 0-5 or 1-4 and that doesn’t look promising for a playoff run.

Anyways, WAKE UP and DO SOMETHING!

Pathetic…Fortunately I had to work all day Sunday and didn’t have to watch one minute of this game.

After considerable thought and the obvious reality that the Bengals may not win a game this year I’ve come up with a solution.
Fire the offensive line. Use our long snapper and snap to Carson 15 yards back, surround him with several key blocking backs and tight ends and send everyone else for a pass; might even open up the running game.
Change the game of football forever. Paul Brown might have even dreamed this up if he were still alive.

Carson is gonna get a season ending injury. The offensive line will make sure of that.

Pathetic.

Is is just me?…Or are the Bengals trying to figure out new ways to lose? While the name changes are coming how about changing the team’s name to “Ocho-O”? This is their last chance to have a sell-out stadium……they HAVE to change SOMETHING to fix this…or the “re-building” concept will be 10 years in the making. By then, I’ll be rooting on the Dolphins from my retirement nursing home in South Flordia!

Lets just hope for a lot of injuries on the other teams. That should help our chances…maybe. Oh and throw the ball more…and stop running up the freakin’ middle!!! It did not the past 19 times you tried it…why would it now…

Lets be positive here people. The Bengals are just trying to ruin the Ravens’ season by lulling them into a false sense of security. The Bengals gave them the impression that they are ok with their current personnel and they should fall to a 1-15 mark for the year. A great strategy by an intelligent strategist. Bravo, Coach Lewis.

Josephus is possibly the brightest Cincinnati fan of all time. Hopefully coach Lewis will have a strategic reason to every loss this season.
